Many parents, mine included, argue to a trans* teen that they are too young to know who they are with such certainty. What those parents do not understand themselves, is that one becomes aware of their gender at a very young age, that is agreed upon. For trans* children when they realize their identity, their gender congruence becomes glaring. Whatever age you are, I guarantee you are “old enough” to know your own gender identity, whether you are cis-, trans-,bi-,or agendered, or anything in between.
